Educational Ethos
To keep ones self and the surrounding clean. It is a reflection of the inner self.
To compete with ones self and not with others, to achieve more and better, to stretch ones potential a little further, the maximum that one can, remembering the quote, “The sky is not the limit, one can limit oneself”.
To pray to the Almighty to give the strength to achieve the things and the serenity to accept what cannot be achieved, and above all the wisdom to know the difference.
To struggle against all odds, that greatness is not in achieving the easy and the ordinary, it is in achieving the seemingly impossible; that history is made by the courageous who dared to question and to challenge and not following the ordinary and the easy.
Never to disown, hurt or oppress the poor, not to bend your knees before insolent might.
Not to waste time; there is never enough time to learn, to love, to give, to achieve, to wonder, to leave behind a legacy, a minute lost is lost forever, it can never be retrieved. One life is not enough to unravel the mysteries of life and of this universe. “One crowded hour of life is worth an age without a name.”
To appreciate the beauty and goodness in the universe, the beauty and goodness within oneself and in others.
That every human being is basically good. If anyone is bad to you, it is not your fault; nor is it his fault. He may have been treated badly by others. May be your goodness to him will bring him back his own goodness.
That this great universe and all it contains is the creation of the Almighty; and nothing happens in this universe without His knowledge and consent. Man should endeavour to work in tune with nature and the Almighty, by not polluting nature, but by keeping the ecological balance.
That no one can beat God; we are all in God’s hands like clay in a potter’s hand. God has beautiful designs for us.
That change is an unavoidable law of growth.
That each individual is unique, and each must find his or her own unique path in life to success and fulfilment. Dare to take the unselfish path less travelled, for that will make all the difference in life.
That it is possible to agree to disagree; that it is alright to be different without being aggressive.
To play well the game of life in the Pierre de Coubertin way: “The important thing…is not to win but to take part, just as the important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.
To be prepared to pay the price of greatness and achievement; Jesus Christ was crucified and killed before he rose from dead to eternal life; Socrates had to drink hemlock and die before the world acknowledged his greatness; the Mahatma faced the bullets before he became the Father of the Nation.
