Rules & Regulations for Students
The school authorizes and reserves the right to take appropriate disciplinary action including dismissal against any student whose conduct is detrimental to the moral tone, discipline and educative atmosphere of the School Campus.
Students shall attend class regularly and punctually. Students are expected to keep the classrooms and school premises clean and make use of the litterbins.
Pupils should at all times show respect and reverence to the school authorities and to the members of the staff. Care must be taken for all school properties. Damage done to buildings, furniture, library books, sports goods etc., must be paid for.
Students are advised not to bring any valuables such as gold chains, cameras, tape recorders, costly watches or other articles to the school. The school will not be responsible for the loss of pupil’s belongings.
Every student should bring the “Hand Book” to the school on all working days. It contains all the detailed information regarding the teaching, learning experience in the school.
The student's behaviour should be gentlemanly / lady-like at all times and in all places, both inside and outside the school. Periodicals and books of low moral standards are not permitted inside the school. Organizing or collecting funds for any purpose without a written permission of the Principal is forbidden. We expect that the students entrusted to our care will conduct themselves to the satisfaction of all concerned and leave the school after a successful career as God-fearing young men and women useful to themselves, their parents and their country.
Any student involving in the following acts will be given a severe warning. Three such warnings will result in dismissal from the school. They are as follows:
Copying and aiding others to copy; malpractices such as altering marks and forging signature.
Physical violence - fighting with other students, causing serious injures etc.
Stealing things - inside and outside the school.
Use of vulgar language and indecent behaviour.
Disrespect for school authorities and teachers.
Continued absence for more than 5 days without any information or prior permission.
Engaging in private tuitions without the written permission of the school authorities.
In Montfort School, that everyone is of equal value and deserves respect and understanding. Each person is a unique individual with his / her own special qualities and will be encouraged to develop respect for themselves and everyone with whom they come into contact, irrespective of their culture or tradition. We will deal with situations fairly and justly with the help of parents.
Checking a child, if necessary, will focus on the behaviour and not the child and we will actively seek Peace, Reconciliation and Harmony, looking to Christ as our Guide. Our ultimate aim is that children should be responsible for their own behaviour.
Behaviour
This is the behaviour we expect in our school:
By obeying teachers and other adults caring for them.
By greeting teachers, other adults and each other.
By using the golden words “please”, “sorry” and “thank you whenever necessary.
By being aware of others while moving around the school and being helpful.
By saying “please excuse me” (and waiting) if you want to speak to someone who is busy doing something else.
To respect yourself and others:
By not interfering with other people’s property.
By not teasing, ridiculing others.
By taking care of school property and the whole school.
By being considerate and sensitive to the needs of others around you.
By being punctual, neatly dressed and equipped for daily lessons.
