23rd Investiture Ceremony
“Leadership is not a position or a title. It is action and example”
The first event of the academic year the 23rd Investiture Ceremony was solemnly held on Friday, 21st June 2024. Rev. Bro. George Fernandez, Secretary and Correspondent of St. Louis School for the Blind and the Deaf, Adyar. The Chief Guest along with the Principal, Rev. Bro. Stephen Xavier, Vice Principal, Rev. Bro. Pakiyanathan, Principal of Montfort ITI Rev. Bro. Deepan were led in procession and by the Guard of Honor and School Band.
Light brings hope and vibrance to anything good, the Chief Guest along with the Brothers and the intended SPL and Sport Secretary lit the lamp invoking God’s presence in our midst followed by a mesmerizing prayer dance. The Chief Guest was formally introduced to the gathering and felicitated by the Brothers. The Principal then addressed the gathering, he also welcomed the parents of the School Leaders who were invited on this special occasion.
The School Leaders then marched in unison to the stage after which the Chief Guest, made them take the solemn promise and thereafter they pledged their oath. The School leaders were individually invested by the Chief Guest along with the brother and in the presence of their presence which was a very earnest experience for all present. The School Pupil Leader Mast. David Francis Royce Baker was presented with the School Medallion, a symbol of leadership and command. The Class Leaders of Std. 6 to 12 were invested by the Class teachers while the Montfort Melody Makers sang the song ‘Never Give up’.
The Chief Guest Rev. Bro. George Fernanadez addressed the gathering and delivered his message on who a leader should be. He also expressed his appreciations to the school management, Principal, Vice Principal, Staff and Students for the wonderful and well organized event.
The program ended with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the newly appointed School Pupil leader Master. David, followed by the School Song and National Anthem. Group photos were taken to record the memories of this wonderful event.
