SILVER JUBILEE INAUGURAL CEREMONY & HOLY MASS

Montfort Matriculation Higher Secondary School, St. Thomas Mount, inaugurated its Silver Jubilee Year, celebrating 25 years of dedicated service in education since its establishment in 2002. The celebration commenced with a Welcome and Guard of Honour for the dignitaries, followed by the hoisting of the Jubilee Flag, National Flag, and School Flag by the distinguished guests.
A special highlight was the unfurling of 25 commemorative flags by the Reverend Brothers, symbolizing the institution's twenty-five glorious years of growth, achievement, and service.
The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Amalraj Arulappan, Bishop of Ooty, along with the concelebrating priests.
The Lighting of the Jubilee Lamp marked a significant moment of thanksgiving, with clergy and Montfort Brothers joining in prayer and celebration. Rev. Bro. Stephen Xavier A., Principal and Correspondent, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the Silver Jubilee celebrations and the school's journey. In his homily, Bishop Amalraj Arulappan reflected on God's abundant blessings over the past 25 years and encouraged the school community to continue its mission of faith-based holistic education.

The felicitation programme featured a welcome dance and a special video presentation titled “The 25 Years Glorious Journey of Montfort School, St. Thomas Mount,” showcasing the institution's milestones and achievements. The official release of the Silver Jubilee Logo symbolized the school's legacy of excellence and its vision for the future.
All distinguished guests, clergy, and Montfort Brothers were felicitated and a few of them addressed the gathering appreciating the school's achievements and congratulating the management, staff, students, and parents on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee."
The celebration concluded with the Bishop's blessings and appreciation of Rev. Bro. Stephen Xavier A. for his dedicated leadership and contributions to the institution, followed by a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal Rev. Bro. Pakiyanathan and a grand fellowship lunch, renewing the school's commitment to its motto, "Wisdom Always Leads."

World Environment Day – Sapling Planting Drive

"Plant a Tree Today, Protect Tomorrow." World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 with a Sapling Planting Drive promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among students was organised.
The programme welcomed the distinguished guests from the Geological Survey of India (GSI), led by Smt R.Bhavani , Deputy Director General-in-Charge, along with Shri K. Aravind, Director; Shri Hijas Basheer, Director; Shri Pralay Mukherjee, Director and Shri K.Kishore , Senior Geologist.
As a symbol of commitment to a greener future, Smt R.Bhavani , along with the Principal and Correspondent, Rev. Bro. Stephen Xavier A., and students, planted saplings on the school campus. The dignitaries also participated in the ceremonial lamp lighting, marking the beginning of the celebration.
Smt R.Bhavani emphasized the importance of protecting the environment and encouraged students to plant and nurture trees. Shri K. Aravind highlighted the contributions of the Geological Survey of India and invited students to visit the Geology Museum to explore the wonders of Earth science.

The guests were felicitated by the school management, and a special memento was presented to the Principal in appreciation of the school's commitment to environmental stewardship. The occasion also witnessed the release of commemorative postal stamps marking the 175th Foundation Day of the Geological Survey of India.
The programme concluded with a renewed pledge by students and staff to actively participate in environmental conservation. The saplings planted on this day stand as enduring symbols of hope, growth, and a shared commitment to a sustainable future.

Teachers Orientation Program

A Staff Orientation Programme was organized on 28 May 2026 for all teaching staff to prepare for the academic year 2026–2027.
The programme commenced with prayer, inauguration, and the lighting of the lamp. The resource person for the day was Dr. Rosy Lidia S. I, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of English, Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli.
Through three interactive sessions, Dr. Rosy Lidia guided the teachers on personal and professional growth, goal setting, self-reflection, and effective teaching practices. She also facilitated activities that helped teachers prepare vision boards, enabling them to identify their strengths, set meaningful goals, and chart a purposeful course for the new academic year.
The sessions were highly engaging, inspiring, and well appreciated by the staff. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person for her valuable insights and motivational guidance.
The orientation programme served as a meaningful beginning to the Silver Jubilee Year, equipping the teachers with renewed enthusiasm, clarity of purpose, and commitment to educational excellence.

Vice Principal Birthday Celebration

The Principal, Staff and Students hosted a Special assembly to celebrate the birthday of our dear Vice Principal Rev. Bro. Pakiyanathan. A traditional welcome was given and the programme began with a thundering standing ovation followed by Lighting of the Lamp by the birthday celebrant along with the students who celebrated their birthdays. The students invoked God's choicest blessings for our Vice Principal through a meaningful prayer and prayer song after which the birthday cake was cut by Bro. Pakiyanathan.
Students of UKG to Std 12 expressed their gratefulness by presenting Handmade Birthday Greeting Cards, Colourful Bouquets, Saplings, Portraits etc. The Principal in his address expressed his appreciations to Bro. Pakiyanathan. The programme concluded with a happy note and group photos with the birthday celebrant.
